Our Home-Start Better Start project is one of over 20 projects delivered by Better Start Bradford. The project is available to support families living in the Better Start Bradford area from pregnancy, or where there is a child in the family aged under four.

In this trio of blogs, featured on the Better Start Bradford website, we meet mum Aisha*, volunteer Tanya and Rachel from Better Start Bradford’s Breastfeeding Support project, who referred Aisha to us as it was evident that we could help her – and that’s just what we did.

“People need to know about Home-Start Better Start and the difference their volunteers make to the lives of people like me.

You don’t realise, but it can be ‘make or break’ for some people. It certainly was for me!”

“I would really recommend volunteering for Home-Start Better Start. Through supporting families, not only have I grown in confidence, but I am learning new approaches on how to deal with things.

I know that the support we provide as Home-Start Better Start volunteers works and makes a massive difference!”

“We consider it a great asset to be able to refer our parents to Home-Start Better Start and work closely with Home-Start volunteers to ensure families are supported in the best way possible.

This type of collaborative working is what Better Start Bradford is all about and families really do benefit from having such a seamless and coordinated approach.”
